Ken Lim
Indubitably a prominent figure in shaping Singapore's music, entertainment and pop culture, Ken's impressive career spans over more than two decades, wearing many different hats as music composer, international album producer, music publisher, record financier, concert promoter and more recently as the chief judge on Singapore Idol. In 2001, the Ministry of Information and the Arts (MICA) commissioned him to produce a new, official version of Singapore's national anthem Majulah Singapura launched on National Day. In 2002, he partnered with top Hong Kong film director Tsui Hark and produced the world's first cyber recording artiste AM FM, which received the Siggraph (Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques) Award in New Orleans, USA. Ken also produced the national song Reach Out For The Skies for 2005's National Day Parade. In recognition of his dedication towards the arts and entertainment scene in Singapore, Ken has been named as "Music Producer and Composer Extraordinaire" in the Singapore Book of Records published in 2005.
Taufik Batisah
A natural-born performer with strong vocal prowess, captivating showmanship and mesmerizing aura, Taufik won the hearts of the masses as he was crowned as the first ever Singapore Idol in 2004. With a wide music repertoire of jazz, sentimental ballads to street hip hop and pop, Taufik has well-established himself a versatile performer and one of the region's brightest stars since emerging to stardom. Audience at hundreds of performances across London, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei has also witnessed his progression from an aspiring star to an iconic award-winning artiste in a league of his own. With numerous accolades such as the MTV Asia Favourite Artiste (Singapore) Award, the COMPASS Top Local Malay Pop Song Award for his composition "Usah Lepaskan" and the Singapore Youth Award 2008 in recognition of his music achievements and being an inspiring role model to the youths, this singer-songwriter-producer continues to impact in regional and international music scene with his charismatic vocals and presence.
Hong Junyang
My name is Hong Junyang. I'm currently working in Touch Music Publishing focusing on music arrangement & production. I'm also actively developing and promoting original music compositions for the chinese pop music industry. I started song-writing and performing while i was still a student in Ocean Butterflies Music school, also known as Music Forest, and made my first foray into the music scene being the male runner-up for the 1st season of Project Superstar in 2005, thereafter releasing my debut album in 2006. Some of my works include : sang "When We Believe" (theme song for SSC Team Singapore 2006; penned with Babes Conde), sang & wrote 難道in my debut album, 交杯酒performed by 泳兒Vincy Chan (fellow friend & contestant in Project Superstar), etc. My performances to date include the 6th Global Chinese Music Awards, "Project LOVE" in which Prime Minister Lee was the Guest-of-Honour, Superstar Super concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium, etc. I am very privileged to be the spokesperson for Kentucky Fried Chicken (K.F.C) and Granado Espada (G.E) too, and shot commercials for both endorsements. I was also nominated for Most Popular Newcomer, Best Local Artiste, Best New Act in the 2007 Yes933 Golden Melody Awards.
